Schedule

Day 1

• Pick up at the hotel at 8 am
• Drive to the landing stage Punta Carrera
• Embarkation on the expedition boat Tanu
• Boat trip to the island Carlos III (approx. 9 hours) past the Fuerte Bulnes, Faro San Isidro and Cabo Froward
• Whale watching near the island
• Dinner at the camp

Day 2

• Breakfast
• Spend the day in the Francisco Coloane marine reserve looking for whales
• Visit penguin and seal colonies and observe seabirds such as the Giant Petrel.
• Lunch on board
• Visit to the glacier Santa Inés
• Dinner at the camp

Day 3

• Breakfast
• Detour to the island Rupert, where Magellan penguins can be found
• Way back to Punta Arenas (and keep looking for whales!)
• Lunch on board
• Arrival in Punta Carrera about 6 pm
• Return in Punta Arenas about 7.30 pm
