Hiking along the Exploradores glacier
Through the rainforest onto the Northern Patagonian Ice
Explore the wild landscapes of Patagonia at Glacier Exploradores, 52 km west of Puerto Río Tranquilo and in the middle of National Park Laguna San Rafael. The hike leads through dense rainforest to the moraine of the Exploradores glacier. After passing through a rocky landscape, you reach the area where the crampons need to be used. The hike on the ice field takes you along various ice formations, crevasses and lagoons.
Season: all year round
Schedules: Off Puerto Río Tranquilo at 8am
Duration: The hike itself lasts about 2 hours. Starting off Puerto Rio Tranquilo, the trip will take 10 hours.
Level of difficulty: low-medium
Depending on weather conditions.
