El Morado Glacier + Hot Springs

This multi-hour hike takes you through a spectacular high-altitude valley 95 kilometers southwest of Santiago, the Cajón de Arenas, known for its rugged, multicolored rock walls and snow-capped peaks. After an easy hike, you will reach the El Morado Glacier, which descends into a lagoon at 3,200 meters—the most easily accessible glacier in Chile’s central region.

After a break at the glacier lake, the hike returns to the vehicle, continuing on to the Baños Colina hot springs. These springs are also picturesquely located in a high-altitude valley. You can relax and enjoy the view in several pools of varying temperatures. The day concludes with Chilean wine and regional specialties before heading back to Santiago.
