Chilean government terminates the "Protected Borders Plan"

The Ministry of Health has announced important news for travelers arriving in our country. Starting from May 9, 2023, the "Plan de
fronteras protegidas" in Chile has been terminated. This decision has
been made in response to the declaration by the World Health
Organization (WHO) regarding the official end of the pandemic related to
the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

This means that the previously mandatory requirements for travelers entering the country, such as PCR tests or COVID-19 vaccination certificates, have been eliminated. Additionally, the random testing of travelers, which was part of the previous plan, has also been removed.

This is excellent news for all passengers arriving in Chile through any port of entry!
