The Place
The resort town of Pucón, beautifully situated on the banks of Lake Villarrica beneath the volcano of the same name is one of the great tourist attractions of Southern Chile, especially famous for its beautiful natural surroundings. From here you can access hiking tours in several National Parks, climb active volcanoes, raft or kayak crystal-clear rivers, bathe in hot springs or ride horseback in ancient native forests. At the same time, Pucón offers a good touristic infrastructure and you can enjoy the active nightlife with its restaurants, bars, and discos.
The School
Right in the center of Pucón there is the Language school, a group project of three Chilean language teachers (all women) with many years of experience in teaching Spanish to foreigners. Here, instruction comes with individual tutoring and a personal touch. The housing is with friendly Chilean families and is also considered as part of the course as your day will be completely Spanish-spoken. You will be part of your host family sharing all meals with them.
The Spanish Lessons
In order to achieve the best results and make the most out of your time, courses are organized mostly one-on-one or one-on-two. This allows to adapt automatically the lessons to the level and necessities of each student. The school provides its own classroom material. During the summer (november to march) group-courses are also offered, with a special teaching content for travellers.
The aim is to teach a grammar basis allowing communication for daily situations. The lessons for advanced learners are stressed on conversational skills and a deeper knowledge of grammar. Build-up courses are focused on the Mapuche (native Chileans), including visits in the Mapuche community centers.
