Vitacura, the district that limits with Las Condes to the north, is mainly a high level residential district - not only for its situation towards the mountains this part of the city is called Barrio Alto. The district is characterized by green neighborhoods with single-family houses and by elegant apartments buildings along the main avenues. Vitacura captivates with a new public park on the shore of Mapocho river called Parque Bicentenario, art galleries and luxury stores on Alonso de Cordoba Ave., restaurant complexes as BordeRio and quite some nightlife on Vitacura Avenue.
